Pretty good! I like the differences between the original universe and this alternate one, and the corresponding differences in characters and situations. I do remember Azula being fond of the luxuries at the palace, but maybe those had meaning to her only because she had aspirations outside of being primped and pampered. The part about her joining the circus with Ty Lee and Iroh toning down the war made sense, though it's also interesting that Iroh didn't entirely end it. I'm guessing that in this universe Iroh isn't a member of the Order of the White Lotus, or at least is no longer active.
Azula is in character all around, cunning and ruthless other than a soft spot for her girlfriend, making it only natural for her to be in conflict with the Gaang over her methods. I like the lampshading of the non-lethal fighting. Azula's ambivalence about killing and grief over Yue are also interesting (her juxtaposition of Yue with her own ambition and lust for power was haunting), and good developments for her. I find it believable, since a person's social circle has a huge impact on outlook and choices. And out of curiosity, is Azula and Ty Lee's relationship something that held true in your headcanon original universe, or something occasioned by the different developments in this AU?
So overall, I enjoyed reading this and would be interested in seeing more.
