Toko drabble

[resonance_and_d]

So I was talking to zephyras13 the other day. And she was telling me about her epic Toko plot bunny.

And it took over my braaaaaaiiiin.  So I may have written a scene.

(posted with her permission because I'm a thief but at least I'm a polite one)


“Marry you?” Toph repeats, as thought she's not quite sure she heard him right. “What the hell, Zuko.”

    That was not exactly how he had expected this dinner to go.

    “I'm not going to stay cooped up in a palace forever.” she said. “I had enough of that when I lived with my parents.”

    “You could still travel,” Zuko said. “I didn't ask you to stay forever.”

    “You think your advisors would like that, fancy pants? You think your people would look kindly on you marrying an Earth Kingdom girl, and then letting her wander around the world?”

    He wanted to protest, to tell her that none of that mattered-

    “Besides,” she added, grabbing a pear from the table's centerpiece and taking a huge bite. “Living in sin is so much more fun.”

    Zuko choked on his food.

I kind of stole the idea from a fic that zephyras13 is going to start posting soon. So... no more from me. For now, at least.

I can let you know when she starts posting her fic, if you like. I've seen what she has so far and it's going to be awesome. :)

Lol, now that I think about it, you make this sound a lot less emo than I planned it out to be. One of these days I'm going to try and write something without angst.

Now, I must actually try and write this thing out...ugh...

I feel like there's only so much angst you can fit, though. Zuko might angst, but then Toph would punch him. And then the angst would be over.

...and now I feel like I need to write more. CLEARLY I MUST COME UP WITH MY OWN TOKO BUNNY TO WRITE SO THAT I CAN STOP STEALING YOURS.

But I have no plot! My mind lacks bunnies! Also I have about 60000 other fics I need to finish as well as classes and doing things like sleeping and eating.

Starting another fic would obviously be a bad idea.

...so clearly you must pester me for another couple of days until I do it.

This drabble made me giggle. :D It was so cute and funny! And just so them! Of course Zuko would want to do the honorable thing and marry her. Toph's response is just so perfect. I love it. <3
