So much awesome news today!

1.) Mini nuclear plants
Safe, cheap nuclear power in the next few years.

2.) Obama looks likely to reverse many Bush actions.
Stem cells and environmental regulation FTW!

3.) A cure for AIDS
Not practical, not safe (30% mortality rate looks more like a problem than a cure...), but it works. In essence: find someone who is immune to AIDS. Transplant some of their marrow to an AIDS patient. Voila! Immune white blood cells kill AIDS. Patient is AIDS free.

Problems: Did I mention that the transplant can kill you? Also: so impractical.

But we're getting there.

In my roommate's words: "Some day we're going to go 'Wait? People used to die from AIDS? WTF?' like we do now for colds."

Some day in the very near future, a cardboard pirate ship will sail in Lake Michigan. For about ten seconds, anyway.

Right now it is sitting on a shelf with a sign saying "ART: PIRATE SHIP. A commentary on global warming."

Confusing people is such fun.
