After much deliberation, I have come up with a list of required traits in any future boyfriend.

1.) Must be roughly the same age as me

2.) Must be vegetarian

3.) Must like to read

4.) Must have sense of humor compatible with my own

5.) Must be easy-going

6.) Must be friendly

7.) Must be close, distance-wise

It would be nice if he were a good little atheist or agnostic, too, just so we would match.

Most of which Ex was not. (Yes. I’m calling him Ex. He doesn’t even get a catchy abbreviation. I’m that bitter, still.)

In other words: nothing was going on at the farm today, and I was bored out of my mind enough to actually come up with this list.

Although Chai Lady came over for a few hours, and started talking to me about Terry Pratchett, so today wasn’t a total wash. She gave me chai the other day, thus the name. And her husband’s name is James, which is HP related and therefore cool. He’s the only one I can actually remember the name of. So how could I not like her?

(Other than the scary fundamentalist Christian magazines in her living room. But those may have been protective camouflage to hide from the Old Lady Trio. If they were coming over to my house, I’d pretend I was Christian for a while, too. Actually, that’s my strategy right now. Considering how scary they are when they ask you repeatedly, over a period of several hours, if you’re absolutely sure you don’t want any ice cream, I don’t want to know what they get like when they want to nag you about something they actually care about.)

And another relative tried to get into a “Who loves HP more?” battle, which was an epic win for me. As if “I’ve read the books three times!” could match my obsessiveness. Amateur.

The actual family reunion is tomorrow. I think I’ll shove a few books in my chunky purse, just in case. I’m not sure Chai Lady or Argumentative HP fan will be there.

… Apparently boredom is conducive to lj entries. Six days straight. That’s a sort of record, for me. And all entries somewhat long, too
